Today’s world is shrinking into what could essentially be called a macro-community.  Let us face it,

• The Economy is globalizing, and the events from all over the world i.e.  Asia, South America, Africa and Europe are affecting jobs and businesses here in our own community.
• Science and technology are advancing rapidly – challenging our skills and ability to adapt in order to succeed.
• Once strong and defined, cultural boundaries are blending, demanding better understanding of diversity in our daily life.

We must prepare our children to face these changes to succeed in the world of tomorrow.

I believe, along with our current traditional education, we need to prepare them for the changing global conditions.  They need to be prepared for the competition they will face from other areas. I recommend to increase emphasize on following area is our education system,

• Stronger emphasis on science and math, starting from the first grade.  Right here, you can probably find information online how the US is falling behind tons of other countries in MATH.
• Increased after school support system, e.g. Saturday help classes in math can be supported by volunteers.
• More exposure to science and technology through involvement of local businesses involved in newer technology e.g. renewable energy.
• Curriculum to expose our children to changing global financial condition and cultural diversity. E.g. the image of China, India and many other countries presented through our current education is outdated. A dynamic approach to quickly update and educate students to understand the changing economic conditions is highly desired.
